About Us

For Boyd Kent, president and co-founder of Anderson-Kent Insurance Agency, you might say insurance is in his blood. Born and raised in Waco, Boyd is a third-generation insurance professional who grew up watching his grandfather and then his mother build successful careers in the industry.

While Boyd was familiar with the ins and outs of the insurance world from an early age, what most influenced his decision to follow in his family’s footsteps was being able to make a difference in other people’s lives.

Boyd’s desire to serve others is evident not only in his leadership role at the agency he co-founded but throughout the Waco community and beyond.

Over the years, he has devoted his time, energy and expertise to a number of organizations and causes close to his heart. He served on the China Spring school board for a decade and currently volunteers at the United Methodist Church as Administrative Council Chair. For more than two decades, he has also coached local youth, providing private softball lessons for emerging talent on the field.

Here at Anderson-Kent Insurance Agency, we believe in giving back to the Central Texas communities our customers call home. One of the ways we make a difference is through our support of The 100 Club, a non-profit organization that raises funds to help pay funeral expenses, relieve mortgage or other debt, and cover educational expenses for the families of first responders killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.
